Seen colors on furniture but can’t match it in a paint store? Maybe because the color is an organic tinted paint and not from industrial universal tints. Also probably noticed that the color is not opaque but comes from with-in. That comes from chalks, clay or casein types of paints; we stock several brands. Know that casein paint can be made from dairy or vegetable proteins? Milk paint is of Western European and North African origin and vegans from Eastern Germandic and Scandinavian peoples with UnEarthed Paints coming from Germany. Traditional Old Fashioned Milk Paint is lime based and Sinopia’s Artisanal milk paint is borax-based tinted with earth pigments from all over the world; both beautiful. General Finishes and Faux Effects make acrylic based milk and chalky looks for cabinet and furniture makers. By knowing all of this helps your design process.
